Learn to Ride: Small Group Class for Adults
This class begins the process of getting adults to roll on their own wheels and within their own comfort zones. The method CBC uses is known as the kinder, gentler side of cycling! Once students learn to transfer their balance, they’ll learn starting, stopping, and steering – time permitting. More sessions may be necessary. However, participants are able to take our balancing technique and use it on their own.

City Cycling: Traffic Skills 101***
This one-day class has two main components: classroom and riding.
In Part I Classroom, students will learn the following: A). Proper adjustment of helmets and bicycles; B). Municipal traffic laws in relation to cycling; C). Rights of bicyclists and responsibilities while on the road; D). Inspection techniques to ensure a properly maintained bicycle; E). The second most important gear ALL riders — especially children — should have but don’t own.
In Part II Riding, students will learn how to do the following: A). Fix a flat tire; B). Shift gears smoothly and properly C). Securely lock up bicycles; D). Maneuver a bicycle through the four most common emergency situations on the road; E). Riding in traffic and in a small group during a 5+-mile ride implementing safety and confidence gained through Part I Classroom.
If you have a group of friends who are interested in getting started on the right pedal, private courses are an option.

Bike Handling 101
This on-bicycle class is designed to help beginners gain more confidence in properly starting, stopping, turning, and shifting. Riders who have just learned to ride or who are weak with any of the above-listed skills are perfect for this class. Riders will gain more confidence to cycle on their own or with friends in the park.

Clip Pedals 101
Cyclists will cross the final riding frontier and learn how to ride with clip pedals. Technically, the term is “clipless,” but it’s confusing, so let’s just say “clips”! It really is fun to ride using this system. Riders must bring their clip systems and shoes, and will learn on their own bikes.

Commuting 101
This class has two main components: classroom and riding.
In Part I Classroom, material covered includes bicycle selection, routes to work, carrying cargo and dealing with wardrobe issues. This class also teaches riders about bicycle parking, tools for the road, conspicuity concerns, and riding in the rain.
In Part II Riding, students will ride in various lighting situations that are common while bicycle commuting. Upon completion of this course, cyclists will have the tools and knowledge to make the right personal decisions regarding their commuting needs and environment.

Group Riding
This class has one main component: riding within a group in traffic and on bike paths/trails. It is ideal for individuals who can ride proficiently and know the law but who want to learn how to ride within a group of cyclists, perhaps with friends and family. Riders in this class will learn how to ride in traffic and on bike paths/trails. There will be several stops for debriefing, discussion, water/snacks, and questions. The course varies from 5 to 10 miles, depending on the needs of the contracted group.

How to Fix a Flat Tire
This short class will teach riders how to change a flat tire. Participants will use their own bicycles to learn how to remove, change, and install a tire.

Kids I: For Parents
This two-hour classroom presentation covers the parental responsibilities of children who ride: proper gear and bicycle selection; physical considerations; and visual developments and cautions. Parents will also learn the common mistakes children make when cycling and which basic skills should be discussed with their children. Upon completion of this course, parents and caregivers will gain the knowledge to make the right personal decisions regarding their children and cycling.

Kids II: For Parents and Children
This four-hour presentation and hands-on experience covers everything mentioned in Kids I: For Parents as well as a helmet fit, bicycle safety check, sign recognition, scanning and signaling. Upon completion of this course, parents and children will gain the knowledge and hands-on practice to make the right personal decisions regarding their children and cycling.
