CBC’s Annual Easter Bike Hop (for Chocolate) Ride
9:00 a.m. Saturday Before Easter – Usually!
In the past, the below-listed write-up entailed how this ride went down. (Aigner Chocolates was sold, alas.)
Thus, if you know of a fantastic chocolatier who would love to host our ride, please let us know.
Start Point: Roosevelt Tram Station at East 60th Street and Second Avenue in Manhattan
Mid Point: Aigner Chocolates, 103-02 Metropolitan Avenue, Forest Hills, Queens
End Point: Mahattan via Brooklyn, or peel off as you like
Mileage: 22-ish miles, roundtrip. The terrain is fairly easy with mild hillage.
Cost: $55 early bird/$70 regular. All sales are final, and there are no refunds unless CBC cancels this ride. An exclusive Bunny Box of Austrian chocolate and coffee is included in the ride fee. Riders must wear a properly fitted helmet, bikes must be in good working condition, and a waiver awaits your signature. Register Now!
RIDE ROUTE We’ll start in Manhattan, cross the Queensboro Bridge, and ride through the neighborhoods of Sunnyside, Woodside, Rego Park, and Forest Hills. Queens riders can meet us at the bridge! After we make our destination, we will ride back to Manhattan through Brooklyn, crossing the Manhattan Bridge. Riders can also opt to take a train back. Helmets are mandatory, and participants must sign a waiver.
Aigner Chocolates will prepare a special “Bunny Box” exclusively for us EB Hoppers, which is included in the ride fee. This rich, gourmet Austrian–style chocolate made with love by the Aigner family of chocolatiers is not to be missed. We will learn about how this amazing delectable is made, purchase our choco bunny box and then head to the cafe next door to enjoy them with coffee or tea.
Be sure to bring a bag or way to carry the rest home!
